One word, one page, one year. This free word of the year worksheet gives you a big box for the word itself, four lines for why you picked it, three intentions that put the word to work, twelve monthly touchpoints, and a mid-year check. Twenty starter words are below the worksheet for the case where the blank box is the hardest part. The word is for 2027, and the page is designed to print once and get touched all year, not admired once in January. The full 21-page New Year 2027 Reset Planner is on Getly, linked at the bottom.
How to use this page: print it, pick one word from the list below or your own head, and write it in the big box. Then fill in why, in plain sentences, before January enthusiasm does the writing for you. The three intentions are what turn a decoration into a tool; skip them and the word fades by spring.
Why this word: what made you pick it, and what is it replacing?
Three intentions tied to the word (one each, written out):
1. One decision the word will settle this year (the thing you keep going back and forth on).
2. One routine the word shapes, weekly or daily.
3. One thing the word says no to.
Once a month, two minutes: fill in the circle for that month and name one decision the word changed, or one it should have. Fill the circle even when the answer is "it didn't come up": a row of blank circles by June is data, and it is cheaper than finding out in December.

Answer in writing around June or July. Switching words at mid-year is allowed and costs less than quietly abandoning one; the check exists to make that call honestly instead of by drift.
1. Is the word still the right one? If not, what is, and what changed?
2. Name one real decision the word changed. If nothing comes to mind in thirty seconds, that is the finding.
3. What does the second half of the year need from this word?
Generic starter words, none of them tied to any program or challenge. The "choose it when" column matters more than the word: a word that fit a stranger's year will do nothing for yours. These are starting points to react against as much as to pick from.
| Word | Choose it when… |
|---|---|
| Steady | Last year's plan burned hot and died by February. Steady picks the repeatable option over the exciting one. |
| Brave | One specific fear keeps winning: the call, the ask, the launch. Brave is small and repeated, not cinematic. |
| Open | The calendar and the ego are both full. Open leaves a yes available for things you can't see yet. |
| Fewer | Budgets, closets, and commitments with too much in them. Fewer cuts, it doesn't add. |
| Build | Something needs months: a skill, a portfolio, a shop. Build favors the session done today over the plan redrawn. |
| Room | No margin anywhere. Room leaves the Saturday half-empty on purpose. |
| Finish | Many things started, few done. Finish sends the next session to an existing project, never a new one. |
| Slow | Speed is the problem: rushed answers, rushed meals, rushed decisions that get remade twice. |
| Deep | Ten tabs open, zero finished. Deep means one thing done properly instead of five skimmed. |
| Honest | The numbers, the health, the project that's clearly dead. Honest with yourself first, others second. |
| Ask | Opportunities passed because nobody knew you wanted them. The email is free; the worst case is a no you already survived. |
| Tend | Everything gets fixed while small: the tooth, the leak, the awkward conversation. Maintenance over rescue. |
| Begin | The blank page is the blocker, not ability. The first ten minutes count double. |
| Keep | You already know what to do. No new information needed; keep the promises you made yourself last year. |
| No | Overcommitted in a way no planner page can fix. One word that buys back whole afternoons. |
| Strong | Body, position, balance sheet. Strong trains on ordinary days instead of testing on dramatic ones. |
| Rest | Tired in a way sleep isn't fixing. Rest gets scheduled like work, because nobody does it by accident. |
| Learn | A skill year. Courses get finished, not collected. |
| Notice | Good days passed unrecorded last year. Notice treats attention as a practice, not a mood. |
| Mend | A relationship, a body, a house, a friendship. Repair over replace, in the thing that matters most. |
