A yearly goal setting worksheet on one page: eight life areas, each with a goal, the reason behind it, and the first step. Below you get the full grid to print, a word-of-the-year box with examples, the first 10 weeks of a 66-day habit tracker, and a first-quarter checkpoint. Everything on this page is designed to be reprinted and redone each quarter, because the goals that survive a year are the ones that get reviewed, not the ones written perfectly once. The full 21-page New Year 2027 Reset Planner is on Getly, linked at the bottom.
How to use this page: print the grid, write one goal per area, then fill in why it matters and the first step. One rule: an area that is already fine gets "keep as is" written in the box. A full grid is not the assignment. Eight forced goals is how January lists end up abandoned by March.
One goal per area, and a first step small enough to do this week. The hints under each area name describe what typically counts there, so you don't have to treat the labels narrowly.
| Area | Goal | Why it matters | First step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Health energy, sleep, movement | |||
| Money income, spending, debt | |||
| Work job, craft, business | |||
| Relationships people who matter | |||
| Home the space you live in | |||
| Learning skills and study | |||
| Fun play and hobbies | |||
| Spirit quiet, meaning, thanks |
The "why" column is the one people skip and then need in October, when the goal looks arbitrary. Write it while the reason is fresh.
A single word works as a tiebreaker all year: when two goals compete for the same Saturday, the word decides. Write yours in the box. The five words below are examples of the kind that hold up, labeled as examples because yours should come from your own list of goals above.
| Example word | The situation it fits |
|---|---|
| Steady | Plans that tend to start hot and stop by February. Steady picks the boring repeatable option. |
| Fewer | Calendars and budgets with too much in them. Fewer means cutting commitments, not adding one more. |
| Build | A skill, portfolio, or project that needs months. Build favors the session done today over the plan redrawn. |
| Room | Schedules and budgets with no margin in them. Room leaves the Saturday half-empty on purpose. |
| Finish | Many started things, few done. Finish means the next session goes to an existing project, never a new one. |
Goals move through habits, and habits need more runway than motivation gives them. The pack's habit pages run 66 days each, long enough to outlast the January spike and find out whether the routine survives ordinary weeks. Here are the first 10 weeks for up to three habits: print it, write the habit, tick a cell for each week you kept it.
| Habit | W1 | W2 | W3 | W4 | W5 | W6 | W7 | W8 | W9 | W10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Three habits is the ceiling here on purpose. The full 66-day grids in the planner give each habit its own page, so week 10 is a checkpoint rather than the end.
End of March, answer these three in writing. Honest answers include "drop this goal", which counts as progress: the checkpoint exists to kill goals that were never going to happen.
1. Which goal actually moved, and what caused the movement?
2. Which first step never happened? Was the goal wrong, or the step too big?
3. What changes for Q2: the goal, the first step, or the habit?
Nothing on this page requires January. The grid works in March the same as in the first week of the year, and the point of the quarterly loop is that goals are drafts: review at the end of each quarter, keep what's working, adjust the goal or shrink the first step, restart the habit tracker. Four adjusted quarters beat one perfect list made on January 1st, because a list you revisit is the only kind that lasts a whole year.
The 21-page New Year 2027 Reset Planner runs the full loop: a 2026 reflection (wins, lessons, one proud moment, what to leave behind), the word of the year with three reasons and 12 weekly check-ins, the eight-area goal setting pages, 66-day grids for three habits, five January weekly plans, a budget reset with 25 rows, a 20-area declutter checklist, four quarterly review pages, and a 2027 at-a-glance milestones page. It comes in A4 and US Letter, mint and charcoal, typographic and clean. The budget pages pair well with the free cash envelope template on this site.
