Free Debt Payoff Tracker (Printable)

A debt payoff tracker does one job: it keeps every debt, its snowball number, and its payoff date on a single page you see every time you make a payment. Below are the three parts of the tracker (debt list, color-in thermometer, payoff dates), the four steps of snowball order, and a print button. If you want the full system on paper, the 24-page Debt Snowball & Envelope Pack is on Getly, linked at the bottom.

How to use this page: print it, copy each debt from today's statements (balances from the statement, not from memory), number them in snowball order, write a target payoff date per debt, then color one thermometer segment per payment you make.

Part 1: the debt list

Eight rows, three columns, one order column. The example row shows a filled-in first line; the blank rows are yours. The Snowball # column counts up from the smallest balance: the smallest debt on the list is #1, the next smallest is #2, and so on to #8.

List everything: cards, loans, medical, BNPL, the loan from family. More than eight? Print the page twice and carry the numbering across both sheets.

Part 2: the payoff thermometer

Twenty segments, one per payment toward debt #1. Every time you pay, color in a segment. When all twenty fill, write the payoff date in the table below and move to #2. The tracker in the full pack works the same way: one 20-cell bar per debt, "cells = payments made."

payment 11020 — paid off

Debt #1: ____________________  ·  segment = one payment. If you pay twice in a month, color two segments. A bar that fills faster than you planned is the point of looking at it weekly.

Part 3: payoff dates

Write a target date for each snowball number before you start, then the real date when it happens. The target is a guess you get to correct; the point of writing both is seeing which one moves.

How snowball order works, in 4 steps

  1. List every debt with its balance and minimum payment, copied from current statements.
  2. Number them smallest balance first. Smallest balance = #1. That numbering is the snowball order.
  3. Pay the minimum on every debt, and send every dollar above the minimums to debt #1.
  4. When #1 is paid off, roll its whole payment into #2. The payment for a finished debt moves to the next one, so the amount going to debt stays the same while the number of debts shrinks.

That is the whole mechanism. Which order to pick, and what it costs in interest, is covered with real numbers on the free debt snowball worksheet (snowball vs avalanche). This page stays on the tracking side.

The example row, buttons, and site chrome drop out on paper. What prints: the blank 8-row debt list, the thermometer, the payoff date table, and the 4 steps at the top of a single page. Print at 100%.

Where the full pack fits

The printed page above covers one debt cycle. The full 24-page Debt Snowball & Envelope Pack adds the 10-row debt tracker master sheet, one color-in bar per debt, 12 monthly budget sheets with the "extra payment" line that feeds the snowball, 14 cash envelopes, a sinking funds tracker, and a bill payment checklist. Everything is write-in by design: no app, no login. Comes as A4 and US Letter PDFs, prints fine in grayscale.

Pairs with the free cash envelope template if you run part of the month on cash.
